Everything physical is consciousness manifest.

We can think of it as a continuum with the field of pure potential at one end, and the time/space of physical manifestation at the other.

You can work effectively using that continuum:

consciousness -> energy -> manifestation.

A small change at the subtle levels of consciousness and/or energy — where patterns or “blueprints” exist — can create profound shifts in our material lives.

Working at those most subtle levels is what we do here.

Harmony

An important aspect of tuning into and using the continuum as well as expressing our authentic selves is related to harmony. They all require it, or at least work better when we live in a harmonious state.

Living in harmony with our insides and outsides, with our surroundings, and with all creatures helps us attune to the subtle realms, and vice versa.

And What’s This About Magic?

You are magic, and I am magic.

Let’s quit pretending we’re not!

Magic is about play, and “Lila” is a Sanskrit word meaning the play of the Divine.

It’s the idea that you have taken physical form to experience the interplay between the elements of the universe, and that you have done this simply for the joy of it.

As I live and breathe more and more consciously from the subtle end of the continuum, the spirit of play becomes more and more obviously useful. It involves a light-heartedness that is paradoxically empowering.

To me, this play includes frolicking in the world of “magic and miracles”; embracing wonder and opening to the mystery; not ruling things out just because we or our scientists don’t understand them.

There’s great power in having the willingness to open to the mystery and live in the questions.

You’re capable of much more than you’ve ever suspected.

The idea of magic in this sense is an essential part of the spirit of this blog. (And anyway, it’s fun. :-D)

About Me (Patti Foy)

I’ve always been fascinated by the holistic nature and interrelatedness of everything.

For decades I’ve studied and practiced just about everything connected with holistic health, energy healing, metaphysics, spirituality, and consciousness. This runs the gamut from applied techniques to theoretical texts about the science of such ideas and phenomena. (You can see some credentials below.)

Unlike some, I’ve never seen a contradiction between science and metaphysics. As far as I’m concerned, science is just not able to fully explain certain phenomena yet.

A Natural Blend

Maybe this is because I personally have a natural and inborn balance of practical and spiritual, with training and experience in both.

I love to combine the magical with the mundane; the rational & logical with the irrational & mysterious, the intellect with intuition.

I value the wholeness of everything, and live a fairly holistic and natural life.

A Little History

I was lucky to grow up in a small town in Ohio. I got to be a kid there. We lived outside of town and I played in nature with lots of neighborhood kids almost every day.

As a young adult I moved to California. From the late ’70’s to the mid-90’s I was a software developer right in the heart of Silicon Valley.

I worked for such companies as NASA Ames Research Center, Apple Computer, and Lotus Development Corp. Eventually I was managing a group of engineers as well as teaching and presenting at international conferences. It was a wild ride, let me tell you. Very fun.

I was a single mom and now am also a grandmother of 2 precious grand-kids. I could never find the words to do justice to how wonderful my son is and how much I love him.

At home in the Jemez

I remarried in the early 90’s after realizing my very best friend was the love of my life, and we’re still together today.

We both got a little burned-out after working in high-tech for almost 20 years.

We up and moved to a beautiful, remote, red-rock canyon in the high desert of northern New Mexico, where we’ve embraced an entirely new way of living.

We’re still here, living a simple life connected with nature and I know I’m all the better for it.

It’s here that I’ve discovered my special love of animals, especially dogs, and my heart-felt and deep connection with the natural world.

A Brand New Livelihood

Although I developed some of my intuitive skills even in California (I studied with the phenomenal psychic Kathlyn Rhea there), it was here I’ve been able to develop my abilities much more fully.

I’m primarily a self-study and have developed my own talents in my own way by working with the books, audios, etc., of a variety of psychics and metaphysicians far too numerous to name.

Self-study is also how I obtained a working knowledge of many holistic healing arts.

But I did do some more formal studying too.

I took a correspondence course with Dr. David Frawley’s Institute of Vedic Sciences in Santa Fe, went to perhaps a dozen ACVA (American Council of Vedic Astrology) symposiums and seminars, and studied one-on-one with the brilliant jyotishi James Kelleher for over a year. I became certified as a jyotishi (Vedic astrologer) and an accredited jyotish teacher in 1998.

I’ve been working with the most wonderful clients from all over the world ever since.

I took 4 rounds of courses (one lasting 6 weeks) in 2005-6 with the phenomenal Betsy Morgan and became certified to channel at a professional level. That’s when I finally had to admit I had arrived at a significant milestone. Channeling opened wide my access to all of my intuitive abilities like nothing else.

I gladly added that to the repertoire that I offer clients.

Around that time I also became certified in Reiki, and then in Matrix Energetics, which is a means of shifting energy patterns and modes of consciousness and awareness with beneficial results in us and in life situations. It’s not so much a technique as it is an opening to what amazing power is naturally available to us.

Since then, my intuitive abilities and energy/consciousness work have been an invaluable part of my everyday life.

I use them for myself, for my family (including our two dogs), for friends, and for clients.

The School of Hard Knocks

And speaking of education … I have to mention that I’ve been through some big challenges, some major traumas.

Somehow–mostly through grace, I think–I’ve managed to come out the other side not just having survived but having transcended them. It’s through these transformative experiences that I have become who I am today.

Not at my essence, of course (for that is untouchable), but as the writer of this blog.

And they play a large part in what I have to share with you as well. You’ll no doubt hear more about them as we move forward.

And Then Came Blogging

This section will be short and sweet, since blogging is my new-found love. It’s so creative and there are no limits to what I can do with this.

Right now it’s a perfect way for me to share what I can with you and for us to interact.

I have lots of plans for this blog and for expanding what I’m offering here. I hope you’ll stay tuned and check back often.

Certified in Matrix Energetics to Level 3 (also known as Whizard Training, and with good reason), and actively involved in on-going training and workshops since the beginning in 2007. This enables me to facilitate effortless transformational shifts in myself and others.
Certified by and a founding member of the Council of Vedic Astrology, the largest Vedic astrology organization in the West, where I earned the title Jyotish Visharada, (Vedic astrologer as recognized by the Indian Council of Astrological Sciences, or ICAS) and for whom I’m an accredited Teacher and Tutor. The council is affiliated with the American College of Vedic Astrology, for whom I am also an approved Teacher.
Certified as a Master Channel, to transmit guidance and often an expanded awareness.
Certified Reiki Practitioner in the Usui Shiki Ryoho System.
Certified Kriya Yoga Initiate.

I also have training, knowledge, and experience in other modalities such as:

Vedic astrology’s Vedic sister arts of Ayurveda (health) and Vastu (environment)
The holistic healing arts of Bach Flower Essence therapy, aromatherapy, homeopathy, herbology
The practice of creating sacred space
Holistic and respectful care of and two-way communication (aka Animal Communication) with companion animals (I was a founder and Director of Jemez Valley Animal Amigos, an award-winning local rescue group still in existence.)
Divination arts such as tarot and reading of oracles
Various forms of meditation, e.g. Kriya, Vipassana or Insight Meditation, Transcendental Meditation (aka TM), Zen Center retreats, etc.
